In the Beginning
July 12th, 2005 | by GTD Wannabe |I’ve recently become enamoured by David Allen’s “Getting Things Done” and have spent much time in the past few weeks lurking (and occasionally posting) in various GTD blogs. I’ve decided to start up a blog (again) to keep track of any GTD tips and tricks that I find compelling.
My original choice for blogging was blogger.com, which I’ve used before and found very easy, with lovely templates and decent functionality. Alas, I want to use categories, and blogger doesn’t natively support categories.
So, I mosied over to blog.ca, which looked interesting. It permitted tags (categories) and automatically pings technorati. And it was free and didn’t require me using mysql or php.
Unfortunately, in my three days of using blog.ca, I become disillusioned. No way to tweak your blog template. Viewing, editing, posting, etc. seemed to take too much time, and, the system was down for a while. Enough of the new kid on the block.
Back to old faithful, i.e., blogger. Now, to figure out some way of forcing tags. More to follow…
