Earlier this month, I noticed that the Getting Things Done blog was doing an interesting experiment. Gtdfrk was asking for bloggers to review his site, in return for some amount of money, based on the number of subscribers you had. At the time, I skimmed the article, thinking - “oh, that’s kind of cool, but I’ve already talked about him”. Because, if you recall, I did a short post on the Ultimate Getting Things Done Index, which is the first place I turn after my feed reader is empty.
Anyway, that’s the thought I had, and then went merrily on my way. Today, I see that gtdfrk has upped the ante. He’s had *no* responses to his promotion so far. I’m really surprised. And actually, I’m even more surprised that he’s only got just over 1000 subscribers. So, gallant chick that I am, I feel that it’s my obligation to help him out. And maybe make a few $ in the process ;) But let me just say up front, if I didn’t actually read his blog, I wouldn’t be pointing you towards it!
Introducing the Getting Things Done Blog
First of all, my absolutely all-time favourite part of the Getting Things Done blog is actually the Ultimate Getting Things Done Index. I like the way that gtdfrk has brought together a whole whack of GTD-applicable blogs into one place. (I don’t even mind the fact that my blog has actually been dropped down to the “Less Active” feeds list ;) After all, I have been lax.) I also like the fact that I can see what’s happening on various forums/sites without having to go there, e.g., David Allen Co, Digg, etc.
As for the blog itself, it’s got some very good, original content. I’m finding that I appreciate original content more and more these days. Some of the posts that I’ve really enjoyed lately are:
- Someday/Maybe = Unlikely/Never?
- 4 New GTD Apps on the Block
- 18 Tricks to Instantly Improve Your GTD System
- How To: Fix Leaks in Your GTD System
So, if you’re into GTD, and you’re not yet subscribed to the Getting Things Done blog - why not?
Photo by Dan Coulter. Why this particular photo? Because the original rules for the promotion require that the blog be “human edited”. I almost feel sorry for all the robots out there that can’t participate ;)
